Gulf Harbour School

School Donations

Our school needs you!

We invite you to "be the difference" for the children of our school by paying your school donation.

Background

Our school is significantly different from most New Zealand schools. We have a reputation of being bold and future focused in our pursuit of meaningful learning situations for our children.

Our children have the benefit of resources, approaches and opportunities we can be very proud of. This is achieved through the support of our parents, reflected in time and money.

Your school donation is critical and needed in our school.

We are asking for a $1.00 a day to keep the Gulf Harbour way.

How much is the school donation?

$200.00 (a dollar a day) for the first child

$100.00 (50c a day) for subsequent children.

On Board incentives

By coming "on board" every person who pays their school donation in full by end of Term 1 will ...

- go into a draw for one of two Bikes.
- receive a 10% discount on all school trips and school camps.
- receive a 10% discount on school uniform.

Do donations make a difference?

Yes, yes and yes!!!

If all families elected to partner and support the school through donation we would generate $63,000 that would be spent on children and learning. Further, when parents partner with a school, there is increased commitment, engagement and ownership of the school - children again benefit.

Where will the funds go?

In 2016 the Board of Trustees is asking our school community through donations, fundraising and PTA activity to fund the following projects and priorities:
Reading and library books, junior school construction equipment, te reo Maori in all classrooms, technology room fit out, sports gear, student bike track and a contribution towards the school hall.

What does decile school mean?

Our school is a decile 10 school. This is based on the census and reflects a number of socio economic factors that identify our area as a higher than most area in terms of ability to generate and access funds. The decile weighting seeks to balance up these inequities. Broadly, it means the ability of our school to generate income is higher than in lower deciles.
